NAGC mobilizes volunteers in Earthquake hit Nepal
Nepal Association for Global Cooperation NAGC has mobilized its volunteers in Nepal to respond to the deadly earthquake of 7.9 magnitude that occurred on April 25. 2015. NAGC is an international organization organized by Nepalese and friends based on California USA. It is a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization established in 2008. One of the prime areas of service is to give emergency assisitance by providing volunteers and financial help especially in the extreme needs caused by natural and other disasters. At the moment NAGC is wholeheartedly focussed in providing quick assistance to the Nepal Earthquake victims by participating in rescue mission, cleaning and sanitation campaigns, distribution of food, medical and other essential supplies. The NAGC volunteers are also planning on providing materilas and labor to build temporary homes for the survivors who lost homes during this deadly earthquake.
NAGC volunteers are active in the hard hit araes of Kathmandu and Gorkha districts providing their services in cleaning up and sanitation, rescue missions, distribution of medical supplies and fresh fruits and healthy fresh fruit and healthy juces to the injured people in various hospitals. NAGC volunteers are planning to provide assistance in building temporary housings for the survivors as well. While in the field, a group of NAGC volunteers have rescued Munu Tamang a resident of Saankhu of Kathmandu District. She was rushed to TU Teaching Hospital. NAGC Volunteer Service Field coordinator Mr. Kailash Kumar Paneru said that they are heading towards Gorkha,the epicenter of the earthquake. Mr. Paneru said, “the demmand is far to great and resorces are limited. We request donations so that our volunteers can provide more services to these hard hit areas. No donations of cash and kind (except paypal) will be accepted in Nepal as per the NAGC International Treasurer Bishnu Bahadur Karki. Mr. Karki said all donatiosn are tax deductible and a recipt will be provided to the donors regardless of their donation amount. The founder president of NAGC, Mani Nepali called all the Nepal related organizations to work in close coordinations at this sad circumstances and has appealed the world to help Nepal rebuild the earthquake shattered Nepal.
